JOHANNESBURG - Morning Live presenter Vuyo Mbuli died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mbuli was at the Free State Stadium on Saturday night watching a Super Rugby match between the Cheetahs and the Reds from Australia when he collapsed.

He was then rushed to a Bloemfontein hospital where he later died.

While the cause of death is still unclear, it was suspected it might have been a heart attack.

Mbuli made his television debut in 1993.

He briefly worked for Eyewitness News.

The presenter then spent the greater part of his career at the South African Broadcasting Corporation.

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyango said, “Mbuli was treated on the scene and taken to the Bloemfontein Mediclinic where he later died.”

The ANC’s spokesperson Keith Khoza said Mbuli was an excellent broadcaster.

“We think his death will leave a void that will be difficult to fill. His voice will never disappear because we were used to hearing it every morning.”
